I am a Waldorf geek mom with two young boys, and plenty of chores to ignore in the name of "blogging." That's probably why you're here too--ignoring chores. Sweet! Let's start a club!
I live in the Sacramento area with my husband and two small boys, 2 and 4. There are some people who purposefully have more than two children, and they may have spent more time staring into the blackness of Prim than I have...
But speaking seriously, parenting is rewarding and lovely, and it makes me laugh to think that one of my fondest memories as a parent involves poop.
In Spring 2013 I was diagnosed with a no-seranoid form of Rheumatoid Arthritis. If I were not such an atheist I would shrug and say it is just Gan's way of testing me. ;)
In Spring 2011 I discovered Waldorf/Rudolph Steiner child-rearin' philosophy, and as a result I do my best to bring it to my parenting, despite my inner rebel.
I used to be a good old fashioned hard news journalist, chasing fires and going to city council meetings and covering elections and such. Oh how I miss it!
I'm also a Lutheran church-goer, despite my atheism. There, now you know all my deep dark secrets. (That's what a blog is for, right?)
Why "A Beam Between Worlds"? It's a reference to the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I don't feel I particularly belong to one single world, and to express my bifurcation in that matter, I prefer to straddle across the beams of reality.
